100 Days in City & Nature
50 kilometers of Art Trail
7 exhibition areas
Emscherkunsts about 50 kilometers long Art Trail leads from Holzwickede through Dortmund to Castrop-Rauxel, Recklinghausen and Herne. Seven exhibition areas and an exciting program of events offer a unique art experience during the summer: not only the river Emscher’s spring in Holzwickede, the Lake Phoenix See in Dortmund and the urban area around the Dortmunder U, but also the coking plant Hansa, the flood retention basin, the waterway crossing of Rhine-Herne-Canal and Emscher and the Museum Strom und Leben at the Stadthafen Recklinghausen are venues for the exhibition.
Rurally characterized areas, industrial culture, natural and recreational spaces, and also urban spaces allow visitors to see the metropolis Ruhr in all its diversity. The Emscherkunst 2016 can be experienced in multiple ways: the artworks can be discovered by bike, bus, car or – in the individual areas – by foot. A broad range of guided tours through the exhibition area accompanies the 100 days long exhibition. Additionally, enthusiastic Art Scouts stand by at many artworks, dedicated to informing visitors about the art.
Shortly, here is where you’ll be able to find more information about the information- and event program of the Emscherkunst 2016, and also about the tours and guided tours through the exhibition.
